I AM MEAT PERSON.
First of all and most important to remember I love vegetables. Fruit too. All kinds and even almost all fruits and vegetables have a place and are welcome in my home and at my table. I grow them in my yard and Im super happiest when I’m eating one or more of the veggies I grew. I also like (not love) tofu and all the other vegan and plant based proteins…And as anyone who knows me will tell you I love good bread and pie (the fruit kind or the French Canadian sugar pie kind) and CARROT CAKE (with raisins, coconut and pineapple of course). Having said all that now so the table is set for all of you…
I AM AND ALWAYS WILL BE A CARNIVOROUS MEAT EATER…Back in my late twenties I tried and suffered through a vegetarian phase which was marked by the worst eating habits I ever had in my life. I have struggled with my weight most of my adult life and tried many different ways to manage both my significant appetite and my eating habits and as I round the corner and start falling off the edge of my fifties I realize now that the healthiest I have ever been and the best I have ever felt was and is when I concentrate hard on eating excellent animal based protein with some raw or barely cooked green vegetables.
If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would Beef, Rib Eye beef, Grass fed Rib eye beef, Rare reverse seared grass fed rib eye beef. BEEF…(see the picture)
I don’t profess to a theology of humanitarian, ancestral or mans gotta eat beef attitude and I respect all dietary preferences but for me and just for me its whats for dinner,,breakfast and lunch. I feel my best most energetic and complete self when I am consuming meat preferably fatty Beef 70% of the time.
Whenever I fall off my usual diet my body tells me…I know it is because my bowels weird out, aches and pains of all sorts crop up and I sleep poorly and wake up tired.
For the last month of so I’ve been lax in my eating habits and allowed myself too much booze, too much bread, cereal, fruit and dairy and the bad stuff that happens started cropping up and the hard work I have done losing 65 pounds was in peril. Last Monday I woke up, stayed fasted til 6pm and had a big steak and I have stayed that course for the week and I feel fabulous!
Im not here to tell you to eat more steak Im here to tell you eat what makes you feel good…the rest is noise!
